Adobe Experience Manager Sites is Adobe's enterprise website CMS. It runs as a cloud service with Edge Delivery Services, or on your own servers as AEM 6.5 LTS. It comes with AI agents and an MCP server, and prices are only available through Adobe sales.

Overview

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Sites is the website CMS in Adobe Experience Cloud. It runs as AEM as a Cloud Service, with Edge Delivery Services for fast pages, or as AEM 6.5 LTS on your own servers or Adobe Managed Services. Editors work in the visual Universal Editor, or write pages as documents in Google Drive or SharePoint.

Strengths

  • Several ways to edit: the visual Universal Editor, the page editor, or documents in Word and Google Docs.
  • Edge Delivery Services serves pages from the network edge.
  • An official MCP server lets AI tools create, edit and publish content within each user's own permissions.
  • Works closely with Adobe Analytics, Target, Assets and Experience Platform.

Watch out for

  • No public pricing: Cloud Service is billed on usage and needs a sales quote.
  • Some agent features, such as brand checks, need a separate agents licence.
  • Most projects need specialist AEM developers or an Adobe partner.
  • Adobe advises using the AI Assistant rather than raw MCP tools for changes that edit or delete content.
