Kontent.ai is a SaaS headless CMS built around structured, reusable content. It markets itself harder than anyone as an "agentic CMS", but what ships today is AI translation and AI review inside a well-governed workflow, not autonomous multi-step agents.

Overview

Kontent.ai (formerly Kentico Kontent) is a SaaS headless CMS aimed at mid-size and enterprise content teams. Content is modeled as structured, reusable items, with workflows, roles and approvals around it.

Its AI works inside that editorial workflow: it translates items and checks copy against your own guidelines, always within the user's permissions. The multi-agent orchestration in its marketing is largely announced rather than generally available, and there is no automation engine or visual page builder to match the leaders.

Strengths

  • AI translation and AI review against your own guidelines, built into the workflow.
  • Structured, locale-aware content that is easy to reuse across channels and markets.
  • Permission-aware AI with an audit trail; nothing publishes without a person.

Watch out for

  • The "agentic" label runs ahead of the product: multi-step agents are mostly announced, not shipped.
  • No automation engine to compare with Contentstack's, and only limited visual editing.
  • Workflows, roles and AI sit on higher tiers, and pricing is quote-only.
  • SaaS only, with a smaller ecosystem than Contentful or Contentstack.
