CoreMedia

Hybrid headless CMS inside a composable experience platform

/ 5

Our score

CoreMedia Content Cloud is the CMS inside the CoreMedia Experience Platform. It combines visual authoring with a headless API, a built-in DAM and an AI copilot called KIO. It is sold by quote, and a 30-day developer trial is offered.

Overview

CoreMedia is a vendor founded in 1996 in Hamburg. Its CMS is called Content Cloud and sits inside the CoreMedia Experience Platform, which also covers personalization, experimentation, marketing automation and customer engagement. The editor interface is called Studio.

The vendor describes Content Cloud as a hybrid headless CMS. Editors get visual authoring with in-context preview and drag-and-drop editing. Developers get a Headless API and a microservices architecture. It can run in the cloud, in a private cloud, on-premises or as a hybrid, and an EU cloud region is offered.

Strengths

  • Hybrid headless: visual editing for marketers and API delivery for developers.
  • Built-in DAM, personalization, A/B testing and localization.
  • The KIO AI copilot needs named-editor approval for every suggestion, and the audit trail marks AI-originated changes.
  • Hosting in cloud, private cloud, on-premises or hybrid, including an EU region.

Watch out for

  • No public pricing. Purchase is sales-led.
  • The CMS is one part of a larger platform, and product names and bundles change (Content Cloud, Experience Platform, KIO).
  • Licence terms and open-source status are not published on the pages we read.
